It was my first trip back to Egypt since childhood. On the last night our camels were surrounded by a herd of wild camels being driven from the Sudan to the camel markets in Cairo. At one point, another camel came up to the one I was riding and kissed it. Some died within sight of water, others survived. It was an unforgettable journey. <image:title>Bronze - “Landscape Two Figures” (1970)</image:title>
<image:caption>This two-part male and female bronze is part of a series of work created when I was most influenced by my early exposure to Henry Moore’s monumental outdoor sculptures. I found his abstract expressionism of mountainous human landscapes in bronze to be highly inspirational. This work is 12” x 19”. $1,500.00</image:caption>

      <image:title>Bronze - "The Helmet" detail (Completed 2004)</image:title>
<image:caption>This sculpture was actually created in two pieces at two different times. I first cast the 9” x 11” bronze helmet in the 1970’s, and it lived with me like that for many years. In 2003 I was working on a small white marble abstract figure, and the head broke off. The remaining torso was quite pretty, and I sold it as is. I resurrected the bronze helmet, and inserted the small white marble head into it, creating this one-of-a-kind, two-part piece in white Italian Marble and Bronze. The inspiration came after I attended an exhibit of sculptor Charles Cordier (1827-1905), where he often integrated bronze and marble together in a single piece. It was given as a gift to my French cousin upon his marriage, and the work now lives in his time in Dordogne, France.</image:caption>
